Becoming a mom changes a lot in a woman’s life — your schedule, sleep pattern and more. But it can also awaken your desire to pursue other passions, which was definitely the case for Ali Larter when she welcomed 2-year-old Theodore in 2010.
“After my son was born, I realized how much time I spend on set acting and how much I love that, but when I’m not on set, I’m usually throwing dinner parties or cooking and entertaining in some way,” the actress tells PEOPLE.
“So I thought you know what, maybe I’ll try to put a book together, that sounds like kind of a fun thing to do in my off-time.”
The result of all Larter’s hard work is Kitchen Revelry: A Year of Festive Menus From My Home to Yours, which will hit stores in September.
According to the actress, the entertaining guide/cookbook is for women who are just starting to learn the art of hosting.
“I wish I had [this] when I was 25,” she says. “I threw some really horrible dinner parties when I was younger because I put so much stress and pressure on myself to make things prefect. What I’ve really learned is that no one really cares if things taste perfect. All they care about is having a great time and being together with friends and being invited into your home.” [READ MORE]
Legends, starring Sean Bean and Ali, received a 10 episode series order from TNT. The show is set to premiere in the summer of 2014. Bean plays Martin Odum, an undercover agent working for the FBI’s Deep Cover Operations (D.C.O.) division. He has the uncanny ability to transform himself into a completely different person for each job, but he soon begins to question his own identiy.
Ali co-stars as Crystal Quest, a fellow operative who has a history with Martin and is uneasy about his return to D.C.O. The cast also includes Tina Majorino (Veronica Mars) and Amber Valletta (Revenge). Check out the trailer below:
Hey guys. Again, not much to update this week. Ali seems busy with her book Kitchen Revelry: A Year of Festive Menus from My Home to Yours. She tweeted last week that the book's website is almost up and she stopped by the People Magazine offices to chat about the book. I didn't find anything about it on their site so if you spot anything about it in an upcoming issue of People, please send me a scan as I don't live in the US. Thanks!
You can pre-order Kitchen Revelry over at Amazon. The book will be released on September 10th. I can't wait to get the book!
Unfortunately, I don't have anything to add this week. Hopefully next week! In the meantime, check out this Obsessed interview if you haven't seen it already. Happy Easter everyone!
