A new investigative series called “Legends,” led by Sean Bean (“Game of Thrones”) and Ali Larter (“Heroes”), is premiering on August 27th on Bravo, the network recently announced.
The show is based on the award-winning book by novelist Robert Littell and follows Martin Odum, a character who lives a life in shadows as an undercover agent working for the FBI’s Deep Cover Operations (DCO) division. The series comes from the executive producers of “Homeland” and “24.” For a sneak peek at LEGENDS, click here.
Following recent appearances at the Television Critics Association tour and San Diego Comicon, “Legends” has already generated social chatter with the hashtag #dontkillseanbean, homage to the grisly demise many of his past characters have met to date.
In the series premiere of “Legends,” deep cover agent Martin Odum (Bean) returns to the FBI after an assignment infiltrating the Citizen’s Army of Virginia (CAV), a domestic terrorist organization. He tries to re-connect with his estranged wife and son, put his life back together, and get the last “legend” behind him, but when the CAV announces an eminent attack, Martin must go back under in order to stop them. Also, a mysterious stranger confronts Martin to tell him that his whole life may be a deep cover legend and that everything he thinks he knows is a lie.
“Legends” begins August 27th at 9pm on Bravo.
TNT’s newest series, “Legends,” premieres next week, and we had the chance to join reporters in a press room roundtable at San Diego Comic-Con to find out what to expect. On Thursday, Aug. 7, we posted the video interview with Ali Larter, who plays Crystal McGuire.
Check out the video above or here. Plus, keep reading for the highlights from Larter about her character, an operative in the Deep Cover Operations (DCO) division who has a history with Sean Bean’s Martin Odum.
“One of the things about this show is not only are they taking really kind of difficult, interesting storylines and weaving it into this great mythology, we also want to have fun while we’re making it,” the actress said. “This isn’t just some dark, edgy show. It’s fun to watch also.”
Congrates Ali & Hayes! Video is available at the link below.
Congrats to Ali Larter and husband Hayes MacArthur!
The 38-year-old star of the new spy drama Legends and Heroes alum announced on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she is pregnant with their second child, smiling as she rubbed her baby bump, which she covered in a chic, form-fitting sparkling dress and black blazer.
Fallon cheered and clapped and then bent down and proceeded to speak to Larter’s belly.
“Hey buddy!” he said.
Larter and MacArthur, 35, are parents to a 3-year-old son, Teddy, who was born in 2010. When she was pregnant with him, the actress announced his gender on Fallon’s former NBC talk show, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
Fallon, 39, and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, welcomed their first child together last year. Their daughter, Winnie Rose, was born via a surrogate.
On The Tonight Show, Larter talked about her methods for trying to conceal her growing baby bump.
“I just keep telling [people] I’ve just been eating so many cheeseburgers,” she joked.
She also talked about cooking with her son Teddy, her new cookbook and her new show, Legends, which also stars Sean Bean, who played Ned Stark on Game of Thrones. The show premieres on Wednesday on TNT.
We first told you about the upcoming flick The Diabolical during our round of incessant AFM coverage (seriously, thank god that’s only once a year). Thankfully, this is one project out of the show that is actually happening! Read on for the latest!
Deadline reports that Ali Larter (Varsity Blues, Final Destination, “Heroes”) is set to lead The Diabolical from Preferred Film & TV. She’ll play Madison, a single mother who with her children is awoken nightly by an increasingly strange and intense presence. She seeks help from her scientist boyfriend, Nikolai, who begins a hunt to destroy the violent spirit that paranormal experts are too frightened to take on.
The Diabolical marks the feature debut of genre-influenced commercials and music video helmer Alistair Legrand, who is directing a script he co-wrote with Luke Harvis. Preferred Film & TV’s Ross Dinerstein is producing. Content Media Corp (CMC) is backing the project and will rep North American rights with Preferred Content while CMC’s Jamie Carmichael sells international.
Filming begins in February 2014 so look for lots more soon.
