M: I know!
A: Like you are there. You know boy or girl?
M: Girl
A: I had no idea!
M: Yeah!
M: Hi, welcome to Moviefone's Unscripted. I'm Milla Jovovich and I'm here with Ali Larter we're gonna' talk about our new film Resident Evil: Extinction. And uh, we're going to be answering some of your questions. And we even have a few of our own! So let's do it.
A: Yeah. Let's get in it.
Both: -laughter-
Q: How did you prepare for the role of Claire Redfield, and were you nervous taking on such a popular gaming character?
- Alissa Toronto, Canada.
M: So how did you prepare to play Claire Redfield and were you nervous in any way because she's such a big character? A: I was because you know, the fans of Resident Evil are very, very loyal fans. M: Yeah. A: So you know when you know you're depicting someone when you already have an idea in their head, made me a little bit nervous. But then you go you know, I mean, Paul has you know, gave me definitely the broad strokes of it. And then and then I tried to make up my own and have fun. And it was great to be a red head. I loved that. It was so beautiful in the movie.
M: It was so fabulous!
A: How cool is it though that they actually like allowed strong female characters in a movie. What I love about this genre to begin with, was they allow women to kick butt. Like anything a boy can do a girl can do better.
M: Well it's true, and it's funny. Because when I first got involved in this franchise. It was my little brother who introduced me to, and he was playing the female character in the game. And he was like thirteen at the time, and he played Jill Valentine.
A: Wow. Really.
M: So it's like one those things where the boys play the girls just because they're so cool.
A: -adds on-
M: So one of the only games that's like that.
A: Are you the coolest thing to him since you did that role?
M: Well are you kidding, that's why I did the first movie. I was like okay, my little brother is going to think I'm God if I do this.
Both: -laughter-.
A: If Capcom asked you to lend your voice or your likeness to the games, would you?
-Dale Cleveland, OH.
A: And do you know what Capcom is, because I do not?
Both: -Laughter.-
M: I happen to know what Capcom is. Capcom is the uh, the uh people that make the Resident Evil games. I would love to. I think it would be really amazing to have Alice be a character or have something to do with the games. But you know so far, I don't know, they're being really weird about it...
A: You're so distinguishable is this character. Like I was talking to people today, and you have Sigourney Weaver in you have a little Linda Hamilton and you have created all these characters!
M: -Laughter-
A: But I do! I think about present day and I think you have created like a kind of iconic kind of action star.
M: Thank you.
A: You are so excited when they hear about you and hear about this movie, that I was like so pumped to be in it.
M: And I have to say by the second movie I wasn't totally happy with it. And suddenly I get this third script and I'm like okay. Like what are they gonna' do , movie three? And I was so not ready to do it and then I read the script. And I was like Las Vegas half buried in the sand. Amazing. Oh my God. With Claire Redfield that's so cool! Alice clones and I get to die in 25 different ways. Whoa this is amazing!
A: -laughter-
Q: Who is the biggest ass-kicker: Claire Redfield in 'Resident Evil' or Jessica Sanders from 'Heroes'
- Andrea Boulder, CO [via text message]
A: Oooh.
M: -laughter-
A: It is like you know, what is so fun about getting to play. Like on Heroes I play this girl named Nikki Sanders, and she's a single mom trying to battle all things in her life trying to get by. So on one side of it, I get to you know play some emotional, sensitive stuff with my son. Then they developed my alter ego. And I play this vicious really like kind of like sexy, sadistic character. But then that balance, we had just finished shooting the pilot of Heroes when the script came in.
And what I love about Claire is she will do whatever she has to do to survive but it's selfless. I think everything about these two female characters is there doing it to protect others. I think they're not coming from a place where it's in anyway self involved. Where they're giving their lives to protect others.
A: All right, we have got to talk about the heat. How did you deal with it, what were your thoughts about it?
M: Well it was intense, man. You know, I've done like two other movies of this series before. And I thought I've prepared for everything. I know how to use the guns, I know how to use the knives, I've done martial arts before. Whatever. I'm just gonna sleep walk through this. Before you know it I'm out in the desert 145 degrees.
A: What's 145 degrees?
M: Kay? Like no joke. And suddenly you know I'm hanging on wires you know 50 feet in the air, and like there's a sand storm and I'm swinging like a pendulum. I mean it was frightening!
A: It was full on. I mean you know I was thinking that I wouldn't have had it any other way though. Because you take the kind of movie where there was this hyper real world. And anyway that you can base it and ground it. You know it's like the sweaty is really sweaty. But if you see people tired and like the way when you're working in the heat, it makes you feel, it's true to the story.
Q: What are your favorite horror films?
Jason Kansas City, MO.
M: Oh gosh, you know, well I'd have to say, well The Shining would have to take the cake. As my favorite sort of scary movie. I mean that's the kind of film that will set you up for the rest of your life.
Fear of hallways
Fear of...like you know, strange little girls.
A: Fear of Jack Nicholson.
M: Fear of Jack Nicholson. No but it's true, I mean that has some imagery that you know is like unforgettable you know. But I mean straight up like horror movies, like the Saw movies were really fun. But of course I'm watching the whole thing like this. Because I can't deal. The Hills Have Eyes which is really rad.
A: I can't see them! I can't even go to a horror movie.
M: Well we rent them, we lay in bed and my fiancé and I love all that kind of stuff and I'm sitting there like aaah!
A: My sister used to terrorize me. When I was you know a little girl. Ever since I hate being scared, you can't like get me there. I love action stuff and I love all that, but being scared is an emotion I do not like to go back to.
Q: Will this season of Heroes explore your powers more? Also, how about getting Milla on as a guest star? :)
- Dale Wayne, NJ
M: How about getting me on as a guest star.
A: I love it Dale, anything I can do to take care of a Jersey guy, I'm in.
M: Do you need a pregnant super hero?
A: Always. Amazing.
M: Rub her belly and unleashes this amazing power. I can shoot... -points to her breasts- No.
A: We've been here for alot of hours!
A: They're definitely going to explore some new characters to this show and new characters that can surprise everybody.
Both: They both laugh.
M: You let them know that I have some new powers.
Q: Do you ever compare your performance in the r.e. movies to those of other strong women characters like Angelina Jolie's 'Lara Croft' or Kate Beckinsale's 'Selene'?
- Lisa Edgewater, FL
M: Um, well you know I love watching beautiful women kick butt, I just think it's so inspiring. And I mean you know as a kid I never got off on watching big muscular men shooting guns. You know but to see beautiful women do martial arts. I actually did a song for Kate Beckinsale's movie Underworld. I love those girls they're awesome. A: Will you share your movies with your children?
M: Are you kidding me? Not till she's like fifteen, sixteen. It's hilarious because I always tell Paul she's not going to be able to see any of our films. Till she's like a grown up.
M: So thank you Ali so much.
A: Thank you Milla!
M: Thanks for all your questions, and be sure to see Resident Evil: Extinction.
A: Be sure to check it out.
Outtakes:
M: I love this chair, it hides me.
A: It's a perfect fit for you?
Both: -Laughter.- |

That's why as an alternative of relying on medication, an internal treatment that involves melancholy detoxification may be a wiser choice. Two things that come in mad when dealing with clumsy detoxification are invalid hydration and spirit cleansing. <a href=http://doxph.org#kq9869>Doxph.org</a> The fact that both doxycyline and minocycline have approximately complete absorption, a long half-life, and unhurried excretion permits periodically always dosing where appropriate. |
